Nov 26th

Dear Cattie,

Not much news from this front, but I have time tonight, so I though I’d write a page or two. I haven’t been getting much mail recently, and I don’t think that I’ve had a letter from you for about two weeks. I imagine the Xmas packages are “holding it up” considerably. To date, I haven’t received any myself, but some of the other fellows have; so I should get one or two pretty soon. I haven’t heard from Hays yet, but got a letter from Mrs. Brown a few days ago. Also one from Charlie C. and a Xmas card from a girl in Indianapolis with whom I was “fooling around” with in Austin before I met Lee. I’d completely forgotten about her, and was sure surprised to get the greeting. I think I told you about her once, but that’s “past history: now, so never mention it to Lee, “Cat.”

We’ve been having some good movies recently. I’ve seen “You Can’t Ration Love,” (the second time), “Mr. Winkle Goes To War”, “The Merry Monahans” and this afternoon, I saw “Bathing Beauty” for the second time. Still playing bridge occasionally too.

The weather is just as “lousy” as ever, but it doesn’t seem to be impeding our progress any. I hope Gen “Ike” is right in assuming that the decisive battle for Germany will be fought West of the Rhine.

I’m feeling fine Cattie, and hope all of you are well. Tell Joe and Aunt Irene “hello.”

The enclosed card was printed by 3rd Army and we were issued two per man. I sent the other one to Emma L., of course.

                                                Write soon Cattie

                                                            Love,
