Dear Ollie,

Don’t rush yourself trying to answer my letters.  Just let me know each time they move you so I can keep writing.

So they shipped you a whole three blocks.  My, that was a long trip.  How strong of a convoy did you have with you?  You must have lost out on the Assistant Chaplains job because you didn’t tell them you know me.

So, your one of those guys, that everybody calls names for not giving them the right sizes.  Boy oh boy you must have told them about me!!!!!  I see by your last letter that you don’t have to stand rivalry or retreat and no more K.P. and mess at the officers table.  Yes sir you must have told them you know me.

Well Ollie I will end this letter now as I have run out of gossip.  Nothing ever happens any more.  There is hardly enough guys left to do anything. [I] can’t even get enough guys to play ball.  Pretty bad eh?  I’m O K Ollie and hope you’re the same.  I join with you in praying that the Lord will take care of our C.B.C. and C.B.L. members.

                                                                        Your pal and buddy,

                                                                                    “Webb”
