Hi Ollie:

Well, how are you Ollie?  Have you still [had] your old job in the Army or are they making you drill with the other men?  I got your letter with my membership card enclosed and I think it’s a great idea sending out these membership cards.  It keeps the boys’ morale up knowing that club will open after the War.  We sure miss that Club. Sometimes we just don’t know what to do with ourselves.  Well it looks like the German War is just about finished.  Then the Japs’ll have something to worry about. You know Bob O’Shea will be 18 in April and how he hates to go into the Service.  Me and Floyd Christie are always kidding him about it and how he burns.  Well I’m going down to the Air Corps Recruiting Station to enlist in March, but I won’t go in until I’m 18.  I’ve been studying up on my Physics and Math, getting ready for the big test.  Well I’ll have to be saying so long and I hope you won’t ruin your eyes reading this letter, I know the writing is lousy.  So Good Luck.
