Dear Dad,

I am in good health but still wish I could be with you Gram. I am in France now it isn’t a bit like I pictured it to be. I got a letter a few days ago from a friend of mine Everel Athinoon who is a sgt. in the MP’s in England. He is from Dayton and has been here a year and a half now. I haven’t seen anybody from Dayton yet. I suppose the pea season has started by now. How is everything doing out the ranch? Are the fruit trees doing well?

I hope you and gram are in the best of health.
