Dear Gram,

I had a very nice day today. I received mail from home and also had a telephone call from Everett Atkinson. We talked for a full half hour. He is going to call again tomorrow at 6:00 P.M. I received the watch band that dad sent me in the envelope and I also got the Xmas card from Miss Craig. She is very thoughtful. I wrote her a V mail today. I will write you and dad a letter tomorrow and tell you anything which you wanted to know. All the air mail is going by boat now until after Xmas and the holidays so I though it best to write you this V mail as it will reach you sooner.
