Dear Pearl,

Well how’s hat good-looking girl from Wernersville?  I hope as good as ever.  Before I say anything I want to thank you a million times for that birthday card, the card made it the happiest one I ever had.

How are you, I hope in the best of health and full of happiness with your usual smile.  I also hope Santa Clause was good to you and that you had a very merry Christmas and that your New Year is full of happiness.  I had a very merry Christmas anyway last night roller-skating over at Sinking-Springs, the night was full of fun.  I thought maybe you would be there, but no Pearl.  (Boo-Hoo).  I got my learner’s permit today and am doing plenty of driving, what fun.  I hope to be seeing you soon.  Write and tell me sometime when you are going skating again. (I hope soon).  We got our class rings last Friday.  They are pretty neat too.  I will show it to you when I see you again.  I don’t know what else to say, but I will thank you again for that nice card.  Well until I see or hear from you I will wish you a “Happy New Year.”  This is Tuesday afternoon and nothing to do but listen to some good orchestra or something.  So until I see you, I’ll so long and wish you the best of “luck”.

                                                                                    Forever yours

                                                                                                Eugene

P.S. Write soon as possible
