Sweetheart,

It seems like words can never express all the thoughts that come to me for you – I just can’t tell you how much you mean to me & how wonderful Louise is - & our love & oh darling what a wonderful husband I have.

I hope you read between the lines & can feel my arms tite around you, in your heart. I know you can.

My darling. This is Thursday. I didn’t get a letter from you – but I know everything’s okay. – But it’s been 3 days so tomorrow I’ll sure pray.

Those pictures I sent you of L. in braids – well, don’t go by them cuz she looks much better now. Her hair’s longer & thicker & I braid it from the top. I’ve taken some of it lately that are cute & better I hope.

I’m wondering if our room upstairs will be in this arrangement when you come. I keep thinking of how it’ll look for you & then now [it is] winter & I changed it – so now I’m thinking of you in this way. Hope you like it dear. –

Last nite your mother showed me a new dress. Your dad’s so cute about it. He sure takes an interest in her clothes – just as you do mine! Tho you do forget to mention it occasionally darling!

I keep telling L. she should have “patience” – and one day I said it when she was bathing her seater - & so she said pa pa for her seater – so I carefully explained about waiting for milk until others sat at the table etc. - & then Gram said “where’s your patience?” thing she’d paint to her seater again – but she shook her head & said “no no milk”

Those pictures F & J took were surely good & I’m so anxious to get mine so I can send them to you. Your mom is ordering them for me. Pearl has the neg.

Yesterday afternoon Ellen was here & she remarked on how good L. was & easy to care for. She was telling of one baby [in] town – the mother has to lie down with him to get him to sleep or rocks him & he’s into everything when he’s awake. L. sat in her chair or play pen or walked around & played alone all afternoon when she was here. This boy is L. age.

When we say where’s Daddy? Or Where’s Kenny? Louise says “Arny Arny Arny” (army) – Even if she hears the word Kenny she says arny. –

She names all her dolls now.

                                Her pronunciation                                           Right name

                                Tingy                                                                 Ting

                                “Anny”                                                                 Raggedy Andy

                                Rann                                                                  Ann

                                “Feed”                                                                  Swede

                                Toily                                                                   Shirlee

                                Bungy Ra Ra                                                   Bunny Rabbit

                                til                                                                        Stiff leg

                                “Lizzie”                                                                 Lizzy

Oh the autumn colors are pretty now. Gold & red. & the sky is so “sky blue” & white fluffy clouds these days. Awfully cold, tho.

Oh Lorretta is cute when she wakes up. If only you could see her. Darling she’s first not a baby anymore. I don’t have to listen to hear when she awakes from her nap anymore. She just hollers “Mommy” in such a cute sweet voice.

Tonight we went to Shirlee’s home & she was so happy ready for bed & all. - & so I thought I’d draw her attention to the florescent (?) lamb picture (since it’s moved) & dear, she got scared of it. & said dark! Dark! - & so I took it down. Wasn’t that funny? Now that she’s asleep I put it back so she’ll see it in the morning & tomorrow nite see if she notices it.

We went out to Auntie Clara’s this afternoon. They have company. L’s going thru a bashful stage – but it’s very becoming as she says mommy mommy & peeps out of those huge blue eyes! She was so good there this afternoon I couldn’t believe it. Honey, we are sure rewarded for our love – not that we need it. – but we sure are! As she is the goodest angel of a child that imagination could make – only she’s real. Even if she weren’t mine, I’d think so. You just can’t help but see it.

I know you’re [break in letter]

here company came. Gertrude & Mrs. Almos – to get a film co. address. It’s nearly 10. – so they looked at some pictures.

What I started to say was – I know you’re so busy & I only wish I could help you – or just be there- I s’pose you’d not like that to have me wake you in the morning when you just had such little sleep, huh?

Oh sweetheart I’m beginning to think I can’t wait for you cuz I love you so much. –

I better write to my sister. I will send her some pictures, too. –

                                All my love,

                                                Pat.
