My darling- Oh two wonderful perfect letters tonite.  I’m so thrilling about your liking the ring- & didn’t it go fast? I’m so glad you have your one Christmas present already- then if the cookies get delayed-you’ll still have it. Oh sweetheart don’t I wish we were together. This letter will go regular mail-as long as you report that some of my regulars go as fast. I’m so glad you feel better dear – I pray so hard for you & the war to be over. – Oh we just don’t belong apart do we. When I am lucky enough to have such a much better husband than other girls-it makes me mad that I can’t have his arms tight about me. The next best thing is his wonderful letter- & his love I have already- but oh I want you, too.

Your mother & I spent a lot of time talking about you. – It seems like we like you sort of!!  - She wishes too, almost as hard as I do- but not as hard- dear- cuz that’s the hardest in the world- that you’ll soon be here. The news is not too good & oh I hope it doesn’t mean too much. – Louisy wants you, too. She is grown up and I mean grown up, daddy, - & the words (& plain) that child knows.  I only wish you could hear her. Even more than see her. – She’s such a tease- She’s awful good. It only took about an hour to have my hair done. – Then I shopped for those things. I was going to visit Evelyn but when I called she wasn’t there - & as your folks eat late- & our time is 1 hour later – it was 3 (our time) before L.A. went for her nap. So it was nearly 5 when she awoke & that was too late for me on acc’t of our time. My velvet dress looks lovely. – I am anxious for you to see it! Mother sent money for L. a snowsuit & it is sure a honey. ($6.00) She looks like a little lite blue bunny. And size three - & it’s not a bit too big. This one of Donnie’s is pretty small- but it will be ok for play, because she gets too dirty for a new one. Your two letters were dated 26 &27th. She got a pair of Donnie’s shoes.  Just fit.  Your mother is always so nice – It was fun being there. We got there at 8:30 A.M. & stayed till supper time!! – Louise sure was good. & they like her-

Tomorrow we’re going to make cookies for my man. – We gave your folks a tin box too- for them to send you.
Bob Hope is on now –Tuesday nite. L. Annetta ate like a lady this noon. – She better keep up being so good until her daddy gets here. She will.

Sometimes I can’t wait. I just can’t- but when we’re so much to look forward to, I guess I can. Oh dear & I love you-  & oh gee – I can’t say more – I just love you & want you home. Won’t it be fun? – Spose tomorrow I’ll start some more boxes – in the attic.  –But like I said last write –No souvenirs or letters mean much unless it’s about or from you –

Your two letters tonight were perfect. I didn’t know you were working with Italian boys. –I wish I knew more about it –Your work –I imagine things & guess I’m sort of right.

Oh it will be perfect when we can talk about everything –I wish there were something I could do to help the war -& to get it over sooner. –For everyone’s sake. –I’m so selfish I keep thinking of what it means to you & me –But I do want everyone to be happy.

The lady who did my hair said it would be good for Louise’s hair to keep it braided –It’s a lot of work –but I will try to keep it up. It pulls it and helps its growth.  –She looks awfully sweet that way, too. I wish you could see her in the snow suit. We’ll take a picture.

Do you ever hear Hildegarde on the radio? Doesn’t she have an odd voice. –Oh to sit together & listen to the radio. Just so I wouldn’t talk too much &spoil it –I just want to tell you so much -& love you & kiss you -& you should see Louise want to jump off a chair. Sometimes I wish she wouldn’t grow up so fast. Mildred Duse is getting another baby.  –Well my darling the song I’m just hearing is “The Very Thought of You” Goodnite my dear husband. Yours Patsy – XXXXXXX
