Dear Friend Tommy

I’m sorry Pal I didn’t write like I said I would but will try and write a few lines now.

I hope this finds all of you boys in good health as I am so far.

My return to the states is a long story but here it comes.

We landed or docked at San Francisco March 8 and went to Fort McDonough for the night. The next day we were loaded on a train for Fort Leavenworth the 11th of March and the twelfth I arrived at St. Joseph, Missouri at 5:30 P.M. Of course I got married the 16th of March which wasn’t soon enough for me. I got to stay home till May 6th my time was up. So I reported in Camp Leavenworth to come back to the outfit. In the mean time I had a sister in the Hospital so I got eight more days on that through the red cross. I came home and stayed till May 15 and that wasn’t hard to take at all I didn’t think.

Well I went back to Leavenworth the 15 of May and I got a discharge May 18th.

I now have a good job at Goetz Brewing Co. in St. Joseph Missouri., 77¢ an hour. “Not bad, huh?”

I sure hope you older boys get to come home soon. You and Powder and the gang in fact. I sure wish it was all over so they all could come home again for good.

Tommy I had to write to your wife to get the address as I lost yours.

I guess I’ve told you about all I know so will close for now, but tell all the gang hello for me huh.

            Your pal,

            Robbie
