My
Dearest Darling Wife,
Hello sweet little angel, how is my
darling little wife. Awful, awful sweet I know and fine I hope. You had better
be dearest. Gee darling I just received two of the sweetest letters from you
and I was so darn glad to get them. Gosh Honey that is the first mail we have
had in about four or five days now. We heard we might not get any for a couple
of weeks and I am sure thrilled to know that isn’t true. I also received three
from the folks dear. Yours was the seventh and eighth of August dear so that
was pretty good time. Gee darling your precious letters mean the world and all
to me and they are so darn sweet. They make me so awful, awful happy dearest
and make me feel so awful wonderful after getting your precious letters. Sure
hope you are getting my mail all right now dear. Won’t it be heavenly dear when
we are back in each others arms and won’t have to write letters any more. You are so darn sweet dolly and I love you so awful
much.
I am feeling pretty good now dearest
and getting along all right in every way now. I have plenty of everything now
dear. Well Honey it has been raining off and on all day today. Not so awful hot
so that sure is a relief. Sure hope you are having some nice weather now dear.
Well Honey I got my finger opened up this morning. There was sure a lot of
infection in it. It doesn’t hurt near so bad now but it sure is sore. I sure do
hope it gets all right now. I have a little place on one of my lower eyelids
that started coming there a couple of months ago and it never did go away so I
had the doctor cut that this morning to so I guess it will be all right now. I
have to go back to see him in the morning. Boy we sure have a swell doctor now, at least I think he is. He really takes an interest in
his men and really looks after you when you go to him.
Well Honey it looks as though the Japs are finally going to start laying down their arms. I
expect it will take quite a while to get it all straightened out. I sure do
hope that they get started to sending the men home
pretty fast now. I was sure hoping I would be able to make it by Christmas but
I know I won’t now from the way things are going but it ought
not be to long after Christmas. We at least have a pretty good idea dear and we
know that every day is so awful much closer now. Gosh Honey I still just can’t
make myself hardly believe it is true. I have been hoping and praying for the
end for so long, it just seemed like it would never come. Gosh Honey we have
everything planned so perfect and when we get together now, no one will have
any say over me in any way and we will be free to do what ever we want to. I’ll
be able to walk back into your arms as yours and yours only dear, the one thing
I have been wanting for so long. I will meet you in our room dear and we can
stay until we want to leave and then we will go out home and star around until
we are ready to go on our honeymoon. We are going to have a month or better
doing whatever we want to dear and really celebrating in our own way and we
sure will be deserving of it all after all this time. I left home a civilian
and I guess I will return the same way only still in uniform. Gosh Honey we
won’t really be able to believe it when we get in each others arms and know it
is for good and that we won’t have to be leaving each other after a few days
together. Darling we will be so darn happy and everything will be so wonderful.
Honey you was telling me in your
letters today that you never had received your check from the government. No
darling I never had your address changed cause just about the time I was going
to have it done we got a new clerk and I didn’t know just how much he knew
about everything so I just let it go. It might be that it got lost or something
dear. You be sure and let me know now darling and I’ll see about it. If you
don’t get it I imagine you will have to write in about it but you be sure and
let me know now and I’ll find out for you dear. Darling do you think I should
have your address changed now. I sure do hope you have it by now dear and sure
hope you don’t have any more trouble.
Darling I sure do remember in our
room when I had you in my arms and told you of my love and that you was all I had. Honey dear you just wait until I get you in
my arms now and can tell you, tat won’t be anything dear. We both know how much
we mean to each other dear and darling I know you will always wait for me. You
are the most wonderful and most adorable little wife in this world dolly and
Honey I am so awful proud of you. You are so awful wonderful to me in every way
dear and always doing every thing in your power for me Honey. It won’t be so
long now dear until I will be able to start repaying you and doing things for
you instead of you doing for me all the time. Honey dear I know that there
isn’t a couple in this world or never will be that love each other more than we
do. Our love is real love to dear, a love that is true blue and straight from
the heart. Gee darling isn’t it wonderful that we were able to get married
before we left each other and now we can be together from the very first minute
on.
Sure hope this finds you feeling
swell dear and everything going along all right in every way at home. I want
you to be awful, awful careful now dear and please don’t work to hard now.
Honey dear you are so darn sweet and
I love you so darn much and you know I always will dear. Gee darling won’t it
be heavenly when we can hold each other so tight and kiss each other one time
after another. Honey dear I know God hears our prayers and will keep us safe
and bring us together as soon as possible now. Please take wonderful care of my
precious parts dearest, gee but they are wonderful and I love them so darn
much. Yours are fine dolly, miss you so darn much. Honey you are the sweetest
and most adorable little wife in this world and I love you so darn much and you
know I always will dear.
Well sug I
guess I had better close for this time and I’ll write you as soon as possible
now. I’ll be looking for your precious letters now dolly. Please be awful,
awful careful now dearest and take wonderful care of my sweet little wife.
