Dear Thomas,

Its such a cool day. I’m just going to stay indoors and get caught up on my writing.

We were out to your folks place and heard you were still alive. Your folks sure are happy about this war being over. Who isn’t. We got gas again and I have hopes of getting a box of washing powder some day soon too.

So if you should come home soon and find us stuck in dirt remember its no song. I’m not kicking a bit tho, I get along fine.

I hear you are expecting twins 10 months after you get back. Well here hoping. Mary goes for her operation the 5th of September. Barbara stayed here a week and Mary wanted her to stay two.

I said she could come back and stay Tuesday to Friday evening and Barbara wouldn’t stay if she couldn’t stay a week. She said she would wait until next week and stay all week but I just am tired but so she can stay home. I sewed four dresses for her while she was here so she was tickled about them.

She and Jayce get along fine tho. Mac isn’t feeling so good now his cold is in his back got him again and he sure is disgusted about it.

Gee it seem good to know we can have enough gas to go someplaces now.

I only wish we could have a new car soon or tires but that will all come in time I hope.

Our old Doctor came back a couple of weeks ago. He left just before you sis. He was with the paratroopers but never left Texas. He got his back hurt and has to wear a brace for the rest of his life I guess. Well Thomas I hope we soon here you are on your way home. So you can enjoy life again.
            Love from us all,

                        The Weeks.
