Thursday Afternoon

Dear Ken;

            The day off!! Slept until 1:00 P.M. Last night the lady across the street asked me to come over and keep an eye on her two little boys while she and her husband went to town for awhile. They have the most beautiful home and two darling little boys, five and three years old. I really enjoyed myself and before the folks left we had a nice cold, big highball, which was sure what I’ve been needing the last few weeks. Well then today, they insisted that I come over to dinner, so I’m getting cleaned up now. I looked pretty bedraggled last night and I plan to present a better appearance tonight.

            Wish it were next week this time and I’d be thinking about going to LA and the fun Amelia and I are going to have. I hope that you won’t object to our looking Morelli up and asking him to go to the old boy misses very much, don’t you? You may have been around there more than I think, huh?

            Want you to go to Darling! Would enjoy sitting beside you on the train and would be very, very good during the whole time. Hurry home as soon as you can. This business can’t go on forever, can it? One of these days we shall be together again and then this will all seem like a bad dream.

I love you,
Berna Lou
