My dear Fran: -

We haven't any mail call on Sat. or Sun. so I'm anxiously awaiting for Monday to receive your letters. I presume by the time you get this letter you will have received your birthday congratulations I sent that wire from the Mark Hopkins Hotel. I told you Cookies wife was coming well Stan, Bob, & myself went out with them last night. He picked us up at camp at 5 P.M. First of all he bought us a pint of liquor then he took us all down to Fisherman's Grotto for supper, I had scallops. After supper we went up to the Mark Hopkins and had about 3 rounds of beer then we rode around Frisco awhile then started back to camp. We stopped at one place on the way back and had a few more beers. They have a nice Buick car, his wife is nice I'd like for you to meet her some day, she's a hairdresser. I've been winning a couple of dollars every day so some one else is paying for my stay here in Frisco. I'm glad to hear Ben is coming home, I certainly wish it was me. Did Bob R. get out yet? How are the M.'s? Did Sally ever hear from Clyde? Well we still don't know when we are leaving so we are just setting and waiting. Honey they say absence makes the heart grow fonder and let me tell you it really does. I promise to be a much better husband when I get back and I'll appreciate you much more. I love you more than any thing in the world so be a good girl. Give my regards to your folks.

With all my love,

Your honey.
