Sat. eve.

My Darling Jimmy, XXXX

How are you Honey?  I am in the best of health and I sure hope that you are in the best of health too.

Helen and I got up this morning at 10:00 and I finished my letter to you.  Then we ate our dinner.  Grandma wouldn’t let us do the dishes so we came in and read some magazines and papers.  Then we got ready and I walked down with Helen to the bus station.  Then after it went I saw Florence Ditty and Laura Bell Shoup because they got off the bus.  I talked with them a few minutes and then I went on up to the post office and mailed my letter to you.  I stopped in at Lee’s and said hello.  Then I came on back up here and Grandpa was home from work.  I talked to him for awhile and then I set the table for supper.  We then ate supper and did the dishes.  We then got ready to go down-street.  I went with Grandma and Grandpa in the car.  We were in Kooman’s, 5 and 10 cent, and the dress shop.  When we were in the dress shop Mrs Cole and Fireder came in there and then we had something to eat.  It was 10:00 when we got home.

Grandpa is here lying on the couch taking a cat nap as he always did do.  I am writing to you here on the table in the den.  Grandma is out in the kitchen and she said something now about going to bed.

It sure does always make me feel so lonesome whenever I come down here to your home because I feel as through you ought to be here.  It makes it seem as though you have been gone so long and Honey I miss you so much.

I am being the best and truest wife in all the world and I always will, Sweetheart, because I really do love you with all my heart and soul.  You are all I live for.  So I sure do hope you get home real soon.

I don’t know yet how we are going back up to Franklin but if noone can take us up we will have to go on the bus tomorrow afternoon.  I suppose if Dad can’t Willard will take us up.

I sure hope a letter came for me today because I sure do miss them.

I sound something in the Pittsburgh Paper today about the 5th Air Force so I suppose you were in on it.  It was talking about the Ormoe Bay area and about Leyte Island again and I ask you the other day about it so if I am right you say I gave the right answer in the letter I wrote on Nov. 11th which is Armistice day.

It was rather cold out here today because the wind is quite strong.

I found this article in the Knox Paper about John Alt and Gladis’s wedding so I thought I would send it.

I am going to close now and go to bed so good night my Darling. “I Love You”

                                                            Lots of love and kisses.

                                                                        Your loving wife,

                                                                                    “Ruth Alice”
