Dear Ruth:

Hello Honey Chib this is the second or third letter to you since you sent me that swell picture, but still no asnwer from you.

You should be here now a lot of Fine Co. are going to have there annual fairs this year, and there is one on now. I was there last Wed. night, and am going back tomorrow night with the three kids, and my sister.

How did you make out with “?” did he set the day as yet? I sure would like to know ( I still have my fingers crossed and hope you get transferred to Phila.)

The two pictures here on the desk make me home sick for “?” the one of you and one of me at the beach in my whites.

Several friends have seen your picture and said “ Why didn’t you bring her back with you” and when I told them about him they said “ what a sailor you are, can’t keep your women.”

Have you had any good jokes lately if so send them to me. I heard one the other day at the office, one you told me while we were laying on your bed. When mother saw me start to write this letter she said “ Don’t forget to tell Ruth that dad and I would still like to see her, even more so now that we have seen her picture, and I too have my fingers crossed.” So you see you rate pretty high around here.

Will close now hoping against hope to hear from you real soon.

Please excuse this scratching as I am plenty sleepy as it is way past my bed time.(almost 2 A.M)

            I remain your Ex-Sailor
