Monday evening

[February 2, 1942]

My dearest Nick:

Received your lovely letter, dear, from Georgia and we are very far apart. But our love, dear, will hold for we love each other dearly. I’ll wait, my dearest one, for I love you and belong to you. I’ll wait for your coming, honey, as I’ve waited before.

I’ve wrote a letter each day, dear, and mailed them all this morning. Honey, I received your last letter Friday morning and one from you today.

Honey, I can answer your letter now and everything is just fine. Oh, honey, everything is wonderful. I love you, my darling, I love you.

My throat is better, dear, and it is very cold today.

I’m looking forward to your furlough, dear, very very much. I want you to have a furlough, too.

No, dear, as you said, nothing will keep us apart for we love each other. Our weekend made us very happy and there will be more, dear.

I was very unhappy Saturday, dear, for I thought of our weekend and how happy we were. I cried, too, but after I felt a little better.

Dearest Nick, I’ll be true to you, dear, very true. My love and heart is all, all yours and I’ll wait, dear. Dear, I want that little boy we talked about with dark hair and a dimple in his chin. Oh honey, I want you so, so much. I love you with all my heart. I’ll take good care of myself and will wait for my Nick, for I love him.

Honey, several new fellows came in today. We were busy.

Honey, I’m sitting up in bed and I haven’t undressed yet. I couldn’t wait to write to you. My thoughts were of you all day long wondering what you were doing and how you are. I love you, dear. Honey, I miss you, too, and how often I have wished to be with you as we were Saturday night. In each other’s arms, loving and kissing each other. We fell asleep together, too. I remember you asked me if you should leave. I couldn’t answer, dear, for I loved you and you loved me. You stayed and all our longing were fulfilled with each other. I wish we back there again in 814. Honey, I’d never get tired of loving you. Honey, this will prove if we love each other (this situation) and I’ll wait and wait, my darling, for I love you with all my heart. Honey, the piece I played for you was “Be Honest with Me, dear.”

My dear, is there something that you need? Please let me know.

My dear, I’m happy now to know where you are and I’ll write and write and oh, my dear, I’ll be true blue for I love you. Believe me, dear, my heart belongs to you. Sending all my love and kisses to my darling and may God Bless him for me. Take good care of yourself, dear, for there might be a lot of mosquitos. I love you, dear and tomorrow I’m going to the post again.

Goodnight, dear.

                        Lovingly yours,

                                    Rosemarie

P.s. I love you.
