My darlingest Nick:

Received two letters from you, dear, and how wonderful.  I’ve been singing all day, for I’m so happy to be in love with you.  I took off early and Theresa and I went to the movies and stopped at the Rest to eat.  We saw Nick and Eileen and Joe Sico---- (I can’t spell his name) brought us home.  Theresa works in the tailor shop.  I worked today, dear, by rearranging the shelves and went messing around.  I love you, dear, and all my thoughts were of you and I sang “Be Honest with me,” for I love you with all my heart.

Honey, every Saturday and Sunday that tolls around, I think back to 814 and January 5th and wonder how sweet and wonderful it was and so far apart now.  I miss you very much and so you say, I get lonesome all the time for you.  Oh, if I could only be in your arms held close to you and your lips against mine.  I love you, dear, that’s why I’m lonesome for you.  I know that someday we won’t be lonesome; you will be with me, honey.

Remember when you carried me, honey, through the short cut?  We walked Lay over to the dorm and went after Anne and Dan.  Then we would sit on the ground and look at the stars.  Those were lovely evenings.  We have beautiful memories, dear, and I love to go back over everything that happened to us, dear.

Honey, when we get together again we won’t get enough of each other for when we love, darling, we love.  When I’m with you, dear, I can’t think of anything else but us, loving and kissing each other.  I just want you to hold me tight, tight.

Honey, did you get my package?  I think I mailed the package on Thursday. Esta is sound asleep, dear.

I went to work late today and took off early, honey, as you told me to do.  I want to mind you dear, and to take care of myself.  I’m not ill, dear, but I do get a lazy feeling sometimes and decide to play sick.

There is something I must tell you again, dear, for I can’t keep it to myself.  Honey, I love and love you and I want you to be near to me.  Maybe you may be transferred further north and then everything will be okay.  I love you with all my heart—all my heart.

So, my darlingest Nick, I send you all my love and kisses to you and only you.  My kisses and all my love are being saved for you, darling, and that is a lot.  May God bless you, dear, and take good care of yourself for I love you very, very much, my darling.

Lovingly yours,

Rose
