Tuesday Evening [July 13, 1943]

Sweetheart,

A beautiful evening to go walking. Just us two, dear, walking, talking and dreaming along. How lovely it would be, dear, if we were together.

How are you this evening, dear? Are you working, dear? Do you drill the fellows in the eve[ning]? Honey, I'm fine, but feel a little weak. I [became] ill this morning, dear, just before I went to work, and felt miserable all day. The nurse gave me an aspirin and the pain went away.

They plan to show movies tonight, dear, in front of the dorm. The “Road to Morocco” is playing.

Esta is getting ready for her date and she rushes so. She worked overtime this evening, honey, and she has to hurry. I remember when I hurried for someone who is very dear to me. I love him with all my heart.

Darling, I bought paper and envelopes today. Honey, my work wasn’t very hard today. Mr. Pillersdorf told me to go home, but I refused. I stayed and typed.

I went to bed early last night, honey, and slept well. I wanted you to be with me last night, honey, so much. I love you, my darlingest husband, with all my heart. Yes, I miss you, dearest mine, that I long for you. If this war were only over, dear, how happy we would be together. I dream of all this, dear.

The girls that live next door to me are painting their room a white color. They have the first coat on, honey, and it looks nice.

I made out two accident reports today, dear, and both were women (married) working out on the 40 m/m Range. Both were seriously injured.

Honey, I typed a letter to a Captain on Colonel Bower at Fort Monroe, Virginia, darling, I think that you mentioned this camp to me.

George is lucky, dear, no wonder he is a bright boy. Tell him “hello” for me. You know, dear, I haven’t seen Eileen for a month now.

A month ago today, darlingest, I was waiting for you in Balt[imore]. Those days were wonderful, dear. I love you and love you with all my heart.

No mail came tonight, dear, but it will be here tomorrow.

I answered everyone’s mail, dear, and now I’m waiting for answers.

Darling, what are you doing tonight?

Darling, I’m going to say goodnight now. I want you, dear, to take good care of yourself. I sent all my love and all my kissed to you, darling mine. May God Bless you, dear husband.

            Lovingly Yours,

                        Rosemarie

P.S. Sweet dreams, darling.
