Dear Anna,

Received your most welcomed letter and I am glad to know that you and the rest of the family are in the best of health.

I am very happy to know that the cards were O.K. as it was the least I could do even though it was late. Tell your mother I thank her for the letter she sent me and we all hope everything will turn out for the best.

As long as I am in a position to write to you I will gladly do so and whenever you have the opportunity to write to me, I shall be only to glad to receive your letter. However since these conditions have come upon us contrary to our choice the only thing we can do is make the best of it.

Whenever you have an opportunity to go out and have a good time take advantage of it after all there is no sense in you worrying and being lonesome just because I am not there and there is no telling when I will be back if at all.

In regards to the serial number on the watch is 30703.

I can’t think of much more to say except that everything is O.K. so far and sincerely hope you are not working too hard and be sure you take good care of yourself and I will close with lots of love to you.

            Give my regards to everybody

            Always yours

            Tony

P.S. I am sending you these cards which I picked up in town and the first opportunity I have I am going to send you some pins which you can wear if you want too that represent our outfit. I guess I had better send them to Elsie’s house since there might not be anyone to receive them at your house. What do you think about it?
