Sept. 11, 1942

Dear Anna:

Received your most welcome letters and I was very glad to hear from you and the rest of the family.

I am very sorry to hear that you were sick during your vacation and I hope it isn’t anything serious as I want you to take good care of yourself and don’t try to do too much.

I am very glad to know that you received my gifts and I am glad that you like them. I thought perhaps you might like to give something to Em, Elsie or Rosalie that is why I sent several things to you after all I like them to remember me also.

While I have been down here I visited a small town near the camp called Blackstone and that is where I brought the gifts I also took a trip to Petersburg, Va. this is I guess one of the large towns of Virginia both places have points of historical interest.

We have had some drilling in what they call commando warfare so you have to be careful of me when I come back as the commando spirit may reflect back on me in civilian life and I may be pretty dangerous.

I hope your mother is well and everything is ok at the shore and I shall always be glad to hear from her

This is about all I can  think of to say except that I hope you are in the best of health and are taking good care of yourself and I hope every one else I well and happy.

Lots of love to you and best regards to every body else.

                                                                                    Always Yours

                                                                                                Tony
