Tues, 8-00 P.M.

Dear Dot and Dana,

Another day is almost gone. I am feeling pretty good tonight as I didn’t go out on the boats today, we have been working on the boats cleaning and getting them ready to paint. I got secured early, just took a shower and shave. I didn’t have time to write much this morning so thought I would write a few lines tonight.

A funny thing happened this morning, my Flotilla officer came up to me and asked me where my liberty card was, which I had turned in when I came back from liberty, it must have been mislaid, so I was marked A.W.O.L. He told me that they had notified you and stopped my pay. It was a mess. So if you hear anything you will know what it’s all about, it was all a mistake and is all fixed up now.

I don’t know just how much longer I will be here, probably four or five weeks, then I will get more training some other place.

The days I am on the boats I don’t have a minute to myself, like yesterday I was on the go from 5:30 till 11:00 at night. The lights go out at 10:00 o’clock so I cant write when I come back, but I will do my best to write a few lines every day.

I have tried a few times to get you a white kerchief but they don’t have them very often. I will try to get you one after payday. Well dear, I am going to go to bed early tonight and get a good night’s sleep. Will write more tomorrow.

                                                Lots of love and kisses,

                                                            Beecher.
