Dear Dot and Dana,

Just a few lines tonight to let you know I am fine. It has been raining off and on all day. I didn’t get any mail today, in fact we have gotten very little mail since we have been here.

I watched the movie last night from the side of our ship which they showed over on the destroyer. It wasn’t very good. All the pictures over here are old ones.

A year ago I was spending a miserable five or six weeks at boot camp. Just think since then I have only been with you and Dana twelve days. I never thought I would be away from you that long. And I guess I have been half way around the world and haven’t seen anything.

Gee, Dot I feel awful blue at times and I miss you and Dana so much.

I hope poor little Dana don’t forget all about me. Does he talk about me very much now? And is he interested in my letters? I wish to God I could get home for a few days. That would make me feel lots better. But I guess it will be some time yet.

Be good kids for me and I will love you lots. And remember me in your prayers.

Good night darling-May God bless you both.

                                    Love and Kisses,

                                                Daddy.
