Holland

Dear Mary and all:

A few lines this morning to let you know I’m well and doing alright and hope this finds everyone at your home in the best of health. I received a V-letter from you yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. Glad to hear Russell received the cigarettes in good shape. I know they don’t smoke well as I smoked them for quite awhile as I didn’t have anything else to smoke. Our supplies are reaching us a little better now but still not too good. But before I smoke them again I’ll stop smoking as them damn things makes a person dopey. We are still having our rain here and it seems to never stop. I’m sort of getting used to it now. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving but to us it will just be another day with C rations. Hope by next year I can be eating turkey at home. Space is gone so I’ll close for this time.

                                     Love to all,
