Breman, Germany

Dear Mary & all:

Received three letters from you yesterday and glad to hear from you. Have been very busy since the war is ended and have been on the move a lot. We are not at our permanent station now so the next time I move I hope I’ll be on my way home. We are living in a German garrison now and it isn’t too bad as far as camps go but it’s not near as nice as when we were living in private homes. Some of them were beautiful and were furnished swell. We really took over and lived like kings. I’m right on the out skirts of Bremen now and for awhile was living in Bremen. Had swell homes there but that city is really neat. Not much left but it must have been beautiful in peacetime. Have been our most of Hamburg and was almost to Berlin. Was up on the Elb river for awhile. Glad Russ liked the machine gun. He need not worry it will shoot and how well I know that I have reasons to know it will. I got it in Bruchean Gladlock. Must close for now but will write again soon.

Love all,

Roland
