Bremen, Germany

Dear Mary and all,

Have been away from camp for awhile so haven’t been able to do any writing lately but want to let you know I’m still over here and am well and doing fine. Had a V-letter from you when I returned and enjoyed it a lot. As yet I don’t know when I’ll be coming home but hope I don’t have to stay over here so much longer. I sent Gary a box of observation balloons and imagine they will cause more excitement when he sets them off than the gun did. They realy look queer in night time quiet like a buzz bomb but then you haven’t seen any of them. Russ will have to help set them off just put the asbestise over the fuze and light it and wait until it fills up. When its ready to take off it will go up itself. It will stay up quite awhile and will travel for miles especially if the wind is blowing. Must close for now.

Love all,

Roland
