Dear Folks,

I am writing to you again from the field where we are on another four day problem. So please excise the bad writing as I am just balancing the paper on my knee.

I have a little request to make of you- I broke the frames of my glasses last night so I will need another pair. I have them still in use having fastened them together and they will do until new ones arrive. There is no other way for me to get new ones while I am out here – the government is supposed to replace broken glasses but it takes them about a month or so. Will you do that for me? I will appreciate it a lot- the same style will do. I will close this now because I want to catch the next meal going out
