England,

3/14/44

Hello again:

This is the second page of the letter, I hope both reach you at the same time- I was talking about the Sinatra movie and saying how the boys were razzing him. I think the picture was funny in some spots and the music was good. Every time poor Frankie opened his mouth though, the boys razzed him good and plenty. It was nothing unusual to hear them though as they do it at every G.I. movie. That is the only part I don’t like about the movies – somebody is always acting like a wise-guy.

Did you get the letter I sent to you yesterday? In it I asked for candy, soap, toothpaste if you could find any. I just thought of something else – wasting paper. If you could send me some I would like it very much. Paper and envelopes are hard to get over here. I have about 15 air-mail envelopes and will hang on to them until you let me know which you like best.

I’ll try and send dad’s pen back some time tomorrow. My two old ones are plenty good enough. Thanks for the loan.

Joe
