At Sea

8-1-45

Dear Cara:

On our way again and I am kind of glad of it. That is a little too long to stay at our port.

Yours came yesterday telling me you had received the check. In the same mail was a copy of the letter the bank sent you. I’m glad that is straightened out at last.

We were in New Guinea at the time of the typhoon so it did not come any where near us for which I am thankful. I would like to see one from a distance though.

I’m glad Jean is feeling better. Too bad Bill has to leave, but it was to be expected. Let me know where he is. I may be able to see him.

I’m doing lots of reading too but nothing good “The Robe” & "The Nazarene" were quite good and “The Razors Edge” by S. Maugham is rough & ready.

You asked if we had started to shuttle the trip to New Guinea was our first shuttle.

I suppose now that we are on the move again we will have the same trouble with mail.

Now that you are getting the money I will write to Carlo to call you.

                                                                                                                   Love

                                                                                                                        Ray
