Dearest Gay,

I just came home from your folks where I had a nice little birthday party. Your mom had Jane over and had a nice chicken dinner for me. I’ve had a real nice time and I got 2 swell presents. Jane gave me a box of Caty’s dusting powder. It sure smells good. Don’t you wish you could use some? Well maybe I will still have some left when you come home. I don’t know just how to describe what your folks gave me. It is a make-up kit. It is a small bag like a suitcase and the inside of the lid is a mirror. It is to put all your make-up and toilet articles in when you are traveling. It really would have come in handy last year when we traveled as much so much. Some day we will do some more traveling and then I’ll have it. It will be just the think to take to the hospital with me. I’ll just put my make-up in it. I also got another present today from Betty in California. She sent me a dusting mitt. It is a mitten and you put the powder in a sort of pocket and then you pat it all over yourself and smell good. That is one you wouldn’t be able to use because your band is too big for the mitten. Ha! Ha! I’ve sure got you there. I will close for now. \
