Dear Marie:

I received your letter and the mimeograph letter about your “Weenie Roast.” You know, “Cookie,” I think I would like the idea of going along, maybe one of these days I will go. I’m sure we could have a good time, singing and eating. Dogs and somebody telling a good story around the fire. I know that would be fun.

I’m so glad you liked the “Patch.” I was hoping you would. If there is anything else you would like to have, just let me know and I will get it for you. I don’t think you should send those woolen socks, “Cookie,” because I always wash my socks when I take them off and they dry the next morning. So let’s wait until such time as I might need them Hunh!

I am writing you from the Hospital (you know I have trouble with my back, but it will be OK in a couple of days.) Well, I never was much on writing long letters and I know this one is short also, but that’s the best I can do for now anyway. So until I hear from you again I’ll say so long and think of me at the roast.

                                                                                                Norm.

Marg.

I left the package out to Camp “Bizerte”. That is the Caramels I had a few of them before we went but rest are out there and I’m sure the Boys will fress them I’ll bet gone now. I don’t know what will happen when I leave here so maybe you had better not send any more packages until I say so. You see they might get lost in the mail. However I will keep you posted.

                                                                                                Love

                                                                                                Gumpie
