Somewhere in Italy

Dear Grandma, Grandpa and Family:

It sure has been a long time since I’ve last written to you but you understand. I’m in the very best of health and feeling fine hoping all of you are the same. I received all your cards and letters and also the money order and I want to thank all of you for it. I also got a card from How and a letter from Gloria. I will try to write them. I’m pretty busy nowadays and I don’t have very much time to write. I can’t tell you a thing about this place but know doubt you read it in the papers. We sure are giving these rats what they have coming to them. One thing I have to say though is you all aught to be glad your in America and someday I hope I can tell all of you why. Have lots of fun with this dogs money over hear ha ha, we use lines, all paper money. Well I have to write to Lill and Alice yet so I guess I will say so long now. Give all my love to everyone and say hello to Aunt Cecil for me. I will drop all of you a line as often as I can. Hope to see you in a year or two.
