My Darling,

Damn this infernal heat anyway as this seems to be the popular saying around here. I thought it appropriate enough to start this letter. It has been one miserable day with the promise of many more to come. This is the kind of weather that completely knocks me for a loop. It is too hot to sleep thus I’m unable to go to bed early as has been my custom. Acquired quite a sunburn today on my face + arms + even on my back + chest. I always wear a T-shirt but the sun’s rays go right thru it. Even my head feels like it is sun burned as I never wear a hat. Guess I’ll have to dig out my sun helmet again though.

We are due for another shot tomorrow as I guess I’ll have to resign myself to a sore arm again. In all despite the discomfort they cause they are probably necessary. Believe this will be the last booster shot for another 6 months. Maybe I’ll be a civilian by then. Then again maybe I won’t.

Nevertheless Darling there is no harm in being prepared. How about a date sometime in the near future. Can offer no excuse for the audacity of my request except that I am very much in love with you + my intentions are painfully honorable. Just want to see you again. The rest will follow never fear. How about it Hon? Will be eagerly awaiting an answer + pray it will be favorable.

Well darling please forgive the brevity of the epistle but it is just too ungodly hot to struggle anymore.

All my love,

Warren

P.S (next to illustration captioned “Rest after Work”) These people believe in plenty of this. Maybe they have the right idea

2. (next to illustration captioned “Out To Plough The Field”) Guess they do this although I have never caught them at it

3. (next to illustration captioned “Wayside Stall”) Believe I’ve said enough about the stalls
