My Darling,

Well Hon I got by-passed once again on the packages of mail call today. Nevertheless as before 2 letters and a card appeared to assuage my feelings. The card was from Mom and was truly very beautiful with just the right sentiment expressed.

Was talking to Dielt the Indian photographer the other day and hr disclosed an interesting fact concerning his people. Marriages in the months of Dec. and Jan. are forbidden by their religion. I had wondered why I hadn’t heard any drums pounding and cymbals clanging which usually denotes a wedding procession. His betrothed died that very day I was talking to him. However it had no visible effect on him as after all she was chosen by his guardian and he had only seen her once. He was a bit peeved though that the formalities would have to be gone thru again with some other girl as the victim. Also he would have to wait until February until he could get married. Evidently he is finding the nights a bit cold.

Guess I haven’t told you about the dog raising business the company seems to be in. In one row of tents are to be found 8 thieving puppies. The bitches that hang around here all had their litters within a few days of each other and the boys adopted them. I make the rounds of the respective dog houses every morning to see how the occupants are making out. Try to bestow my setting impartially but I’m afraid I’m kind of attached to the 2 pups in Scimeres tent. The male belongs to Frank and the female to Maws. I’ve had a lot of offers of puppies but I refuse them as I know I’d grow so attached it would bother me to leave them. However I still have a swell time with the whole kit and caboodle of them. I guess every one of them has wet me at one time or another. Its good to have them around. They’ll take all the affection you will give and I’ve sure got a lot of it stored up in me.

Of course Sweetheart, the special brand of affection that is yours, I keep locked away and shall until we are together again. You have the key and how well I realize it couldn’t be in better hands. I do love you Hon.

All my love

Warren
