Dear Mom –

Just a line to let you know that I am now a Corporal! I was mad a Technician fifth grade tonight. Chevrons look like this [drawing of Chevrons] - Meaning I am a Technical Corporal and I make $66 a month now – I was paid today – (of course I won’t be paid the $66 until I’m paid next month)

They’re saying (rumor) that furloughs will start soon – that means I’ll either be home on my birthday – Xmas – or New Years –

I’m really happy about being promoted – I’ve worked had for it – I’m going to keep trying – maybe I’ll make a little higher grade –
