On Bivouac

Dear Mom-

Just a line to say I’m fine – We came out on Bivouac yesterday morning and will be here until Tuesday – Having a good time – We won’t be here much longer I guess – So I’m making the most of my time – The allotment will go there ok I think – When I do go overseas I want you to use whatever you need and save the rest for me either in a bank account or in war bonds – If anything ever comes up about my civilian insurance policy, income tax, etc don’t forget that you are my power of attorney and can do anything that I could – Hope I do go where I could see Gene. It’s highly possible too-

I’d better close now and get some sleep – I was Charge of Quarters last night and had to be up all night long – but I get today off – Write me soon and often-
