Dear Mom-

I have a few moments to drop a line-I wrote yesterday about the allotment, insurance and income tax-Hope you can get it all straight. Yesterday afternoon a group of us visited Stratford on Avon-Shakespeares home-there is a festival on and we saw “Hamlet” in a beautiful modern theater there-later we visited his birthplace and his grave-there is a lovely old church there-The main part was built in 1210-the stained glass windows are lovely-later we rowed on the Avon River and really had a grand time-I certainly was glad I was among those able to go.

I haven’t heard from Gene yet-He’s hardly had time to get a letter back from wherever he is. We’re still situated as I wrote before-they have dances almost every night-it seems to be the favorite form of entertainment. Some of the girls are very pretty even though most of them haven’t new clothes etc.-Just about everything is rationed.

Please keep my letters as it will give me sort of a diary when I get back-Love to all
