Saturday Night –

Dear Mom –

Just a line to say all is ok. I’m on duty now and have a few moments to spare, so I’ll steal the time to drop a line. I volunteered to work tonight and will thereby get tomorrow off. I Think I will go to Birmingham for a visit. Saw San Francisco last night at our home movie. I missed it several times before and I’m glad I had the opportunity it see it this time. Clark Gable and Spencer Tracey were starred and I enjoyed it immensely. Hope Ginny is feeling better and will soon be up – I wrote his yesterday – also wrote Aunt Het and Uncle Ned – What do you hear from Gene McGahee? Please send me his address. Your air mail letters are reaching me in good time – Five or six days usually. I had a letter from Bobbie Gregory yesterday and another today – I’m answering them tonight if I got the time. We’re keeping pretty busy now – and I hope when our present work is done there will be a chance for me to get a pass so I can get to see Gene. I have my radio so I will play in the field now so I’ll have “Music wherever I Go” – It’s really nice to be able to tune in once in a while – We put some fair broadcasts I heard a rebroadcast of Charlie McCarthy the other morning – It was really swell – will close for this time. Write often.

Love,

Jack
