Somewhere in Belgium

November 17, 1944

Dear Mom –

Things are about the same here – not much to do but somehow the time slips by pretty quickly. Went to liege again yesterday and did a little more shopping – Tomorrow I‘m going to try to pack that package and send it to you –

Had a letter from my old pal Bob Renard who used to be in this outfit and transferred to the Air Corps – the letter was dated the 23^rd of September and he was in the states at that time but said he expected to be overseas before November was out. He’s a gunner now and was at Drew Field near Tampa –

It begins to look like X-mas will be spent over here – At one time we has high hopes of heading home before then but that idea is not so popular now – However we’re in a pretty good spot now – and if we get equally good spots later it won’t be too bad –

I had a letter from you on a couple of days ago but haven’t heard since – Hope everything is ok – Write soon and often –
