Germany

Dear Mom –

Since I last wrote you we’ve moved again. We took over for another hospital and have more patients now then ever before so I’ve been awfully busy – I went back on night duty however and as the ward is quiet for the moment I’ll drop a line to say everything is ok – We’re in a building again which has its advantages – and disadvantages – The news we’re getting over here is good – and at last it seems that the end is in sight – It might be a few months yet but its near I believe-

I’ve been thinking a lot about Gene and Daris – That really is too bad – I think perhaps she was a little too bad – I think perhaps she was a little too young for him for he is different from most kids his age – I’m sorry to hear he’ll have to ship to the Pacific but we must close both of these wars and we’re the ones elected to do it. He seems to think that I will not go Pacific way – I don’t know what he is basing his operation on but I have a feeling we will go. Only hope we can get home for a little while first –

I turned in the Money Order blanks for $150 to send to you – As soon as I get them I’ll send it on – Please advise me as to my financial status and war bonds – Did that income tax business ever come thru -?

I have a lot of other letters to write, Henry, Elizabeth, Ann, Cheatham etc – So must close now – oh yes – Edna sent me a clipping of Dot Connell’s coming marriage- Everybody’s doing it -!

                                                                                                                             Love

Jack –
