March the fourteenth

Dear Mom –

Things have slowed down considerably now for us and I’ll have a little more time to write – We really were busy for a bit and there was little time for anything except work and sleep.

I haven’t received a letter from you for several days – I had four not so long ago however – Your letters are coming thru ok – don’t worry about that – sometimes they’re delayed and not often are they in sequence – but they get here – that’s the main thing –

A bright note for us was the sunshine.  After days and days of rain and mud we’ve had to swell days.  It got really warm – and dried out the place considerably – it’s been good weather for the planes too – they’ve been bombing Berlin every night and over Rhine bridgehead is improving – that’s a lot on the road to victory –

Hope Sere is at home by now – I got your letters telling of his call from Norfolk and later letter regarding his cargo and its delivery – I hope he’ll enjoy his leave and that everything will go well with him – Perhaps he can see Jon’s and can talk over the situation – Hope it works out well for them – He’s so crazy about her.

I’m going to try to fix up a box of pictures to mail home within the next four days – Wish I could tell you which picture is which but I can’t at this time – Maybe later –

Write often – I’ll dash another soon –

Love

Jack
