Germany-

Dear Mom,

Just a line to say everything is ok. I’m still working nights and things are not too busy. Yesterday we moved out of tents and into a building. For over loving quarters I mean. I have a nice room. Except for the fact that the stove smokes me out. It’s fairly warm however and I don’t really need it. I have a radio I’m using until the tube you sent arrives and I can fix my little one.

I started this letter just before coming to work. It’s now almost six and time to start changing dressings, taking temperatures, giving penicillin, sulfa and other medications and to get breakfast for the patients. They had a pretty good night and I managed to get a little shut eye on the side myself. I hope we wont be at this much longer. The end does seem in sight now.

Hope everything at home is ok. Write as often as you can. I’ll do the same. So long for this time.

            Love

                        Jack
