Euie dearest,

I received seven letters today.  It has been nearly two weeks since my last haul. (a week or so I received one)

We are at sea now, so the mail deliveries aren’t so good.

I have had quite a case of heat rash, as have many others.  The cool weather we are having is helping that a lot.  Your letter of the 5th sounded as if you were way down in the dumps.  That letter you enclosed, the one written in 1939, brings back old memoires.  Thank you so much.

I’m glad you like the sandals.  They arrived in remarkably good time.  I’m sure that while we are seen in the middle of the ocean there will be no trouble with hay fever.  Last summer it wasn’t bad as the summer before, so maybe he’ll be alright now.  So Spauldings expects to go into the radar business after the war!

You are doing just swell with this account!

I see by the paper that gasoline rationing is to be lifted.  What is the tire situation?  I imagine it won’t be too long before tires will be available for the ordinary folks.  The first chance we get we are going to take e a nice long leisurely trip with Susie.  How about it?

That is a cute card you sent me on the 9th.  Keep your chin up sweetheart – I’ll be along in no time.

Goodnight my sweetheart.  I’m living for the day when we’ll be together again.

Always, your own Stuie.
