Dearest Ike,

I was really glad to hear from you. I don’t hear very often but it really seems good to when I do hear. I hope you weren’t hurt very much. War is terrible, but still we back home can’t realize what it is. I hope it will be over before long.

I played basketball yesterday for the first time in a long time. It is getting just about too hot to play here though. Everything is so green. It has been raining today and everything looks greener than ever. I really love the spring of the year.

I won’t be over here but about five more weeks and I sure will be glad. That is unless I come to summer school and I don’t think I will for it will seem too good to get home and not have to study all the time. Study is all I ever do over here. I never studied in high school and I just saw what I managed by not studying.

I went to a banquet at home about two weeks ago and I really had fun. Everything was decorated so perfectly. This room was decorated like an island and there was a moon in one corner and the only lights they had were candle lights. I wish you could have seen it.

Henace Daniel is in Germany too, so I am sending you his address for you might see him sometime.

Love Always,

Louise
