Friday – 4:45 P.M.

Dear Folks!

I’m now in the barber shop waiting to get a haircut – everything we do around here we have to wait in line because for a small field it’s really overcrowded and they’re expecting plenty more men to move in here. We’re all on edge waiting for some information as to what the Army is going to do with all the men who have 85 or more points – so far there have been rumors and no actual facts forthcoming – it looks like it’s going to be an awful headache for awhile to try and get the Army demobilized. I’m just hoping I can get a break for a change!

I received the money order and wish to thank you mom – you can’t be beat. You know what to do with my next check. That was a nice letter Partner wrote and it seemed that he was pretty excited about this darn war being over. Glad to hear that everyone at home is in fine shape. How long has it been since Hick last wrote you. Partner believes he is on his way home. I wish I could feel the same way, but I don’t believe he’ll get that break yet. The kid made a pretty good guess as to when the war would end. If you don’t hear from him for awhile, sit tight, Mom and don’t worry. Maybe it’s another one of those moves.

The weather has been pretty nice lately and I still manage to get out in the sun and keep my tan up. Working in the office – no overtime yet and I don’t expect to put any in if I can help it. The meals are pretty fair. Boy! I’ll be glad to get back to your cooking. Mom – how’s Lil and her family? Haven’t heard from her for some time – what’s new with Natalie and how’s Rose?

Well it’s almost my turn to get a trimming so I’ll wind up this note by wishing all of you the best of everything and hoping I’ll be seeing you one of these days in the very near future. Don’t worry and take care. S’long – write soon. Lots of love, from

Your son,

Lou
