Born on March 6, 1921, Herold Litow served in the 433 Fighter Squadron, 475th Fighter Group, in the Pacific Theater. The letters in our collection are from a variety of family and friends, some of whom were also in the military. Herold Litow's friends called him Hicky. The son of Russian immigrants, Mr. Litow lived his entire life in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He died on June 5, 2006 at the age of 85.
