Moultrie, Ga.

Dear Jack,

Received your most welcome letter Saturday. Sorry I haven’t answered sooner. I worked Saturday and spent the day in the Country Sunday, so you see this is the only chance I have had to write. Hope you have a nice time on furlough. Yes, it would be nice if you could have come down though! I know it was impossible. So maybe I’ll see you in several years.

How’re you doing? How is California and do you see many pretty girls and movie stars? Hope I can go there some times. Bet you’re having a swell time.

Stayed out of school today. Boy, it seems good to be out just for a day. I wish I was out for good. Might go to Valdosta tomorrow to do a little shopping. Mother said if I would keep my lesson up good she would mind. I’m going with a girl friend and her mother

Guess what? There’s going to be a wedding at my sister’s next week. My cousin is getting married. I’ve never been to a wedding before, so I guess I’ll go. He has a right cute girl. They came up yesterday. They’re just as happy as can be—but kinda nervous.

We’re having a basket ball game tomorrow night. We haven’t lost a game so far. Hope we don’t break our record now. There will be a dance afterwards. Guess I’ll go with my sisters and two girl friends.

I have a roll of films—if we ever have another pretty day then we’ll take some pictures, and I’ll send you some if they turn out ok.

I have to close now I’ve gotta help Virginia, my sister, with supper. Write me soon and tell me anything new—be good-

                                                            Lots of luck,

                                                            Betty

P.S. Try to get a picture while you’re home.
