Dear Jack,

The other letter I am sending is a little old but I’m broke and have been for around two weeks.

I’ve been paying a doctor bill and it takes practically all my pay, plus bus far, etc.  I also lost one letter I wrote and can’t find it anyplace!!  I’ll explain what I meant about not writing before the 19.  I was mad Jack!  You wrote differently to other people than you do me.  You tell them what a grand time you have running around with the White Russian gals and drinking.  I read some of them, seeing is believing.  I just can’t believe it Jack!!  You can go out but you don’t have to keep it a secret from me.  Oh well maybe it’s best, I don’t know.  And drinking Jack??  You must know how strongly I’m against it!!  Don’t let it get the best of you Jack please, for me.

I heard Konie is out of service!  He was up to the fountain about a week ago, I was talking to him.  I heard he is going with Blanche Glan now.  Know her? I do.

Oh yes I also heard your sister Gwenie went out with Ricky Lowe!!  She’s swell Jack and he seems like a nice guy.  I was supposed to go on a hay-ride with Dot, Gwen, Dolly Costello and that gang but I changed my mind.  I know what happens on hay-rides.  Remember the one we went on??  The minister sat next to us all the way out and you were the one who was gonna keep me warm.  Oh I Jack I miss you so much!

No doubt you’ve heard I have been over to Dot’s house a couple of times.  Once, about two weeks ago I went to the Sawkill Dance with her.  I came home (to her house) with Jimmy Gilpatrick.  He’s O.K. but I know a certain Marine who could pass him with flying colors.

School’s coming along fine and so is work.  I don’t wolf honey so don’t worry.

Guess I better close, I’m getting sleepy, forgive me for not writing Jack.  It won’t happen again.

I love you,

Sincerely,

“Jackie”
