Dear Mom,

Thought I would drop you a few lines this evening.  Have been getting your letters O.K.

Got a letter or two from Freda last week.  She is still in Jacksonville.  Says she expects to be drafted into the army Nurse Corp.

The weather sure is getting to be real nice over here now.  Everything is golden just like at home in the early summer.

We are pitching another Company party in about a week.  Asked a British WAHF and a certain girl to come.  Maybe one of them will show up.  Can’t tell about these women though.

How is Virgil getting along these days?  Haven’t heard form Alvin for quite some time.  Write soon.

Love, John
