Mary finished your socks and gave them to me yesterday.  They don’t seem quite as nice as the other pair although Mary says she doesn’t know why.  They seem a little too big, that is, big in the width, not the length.  I am taking them up to McCreery’s this afternoon and I’m going to ask the knitting instructress there what I can do to make them they will get smaller. However, I’m going to ask the girl up in McCreery’s and do whatever she tells me.

Harold is becoming a camera bug.  He bought a new camera and one of the boys up in Boston is going to teach him how to develop his own pictures. It seems that one of the service clubs up there has all the necessary equipment for developing and printing.

Regarding the little camera I was telling you about, it takes pretty good pictures so I’m going to buy it and send it to you.  As I said in my other letter, it isn’t an expensive camera but it will answer your purpose. I would hesitate sending an expensive camera because it might get lost on the way over or it might get broken.  I have managed to get four films too.  It takes a very small picture about 1 and one-fourth by 1 and three-fourths, but I have them enlarged to about 4 and one-fourth by fourth and one-fourth right when I have them developed and they come out very well. I have a very good picture of Heltie taken with it and I shall send it along to you so you can see the kind of pictures it takes.

Don sent me a cashmere sweater which he bought when he was in Kashmir.  It’s pretty and I think it was so nice of him to send it.

I haven’t heard anything from Ham since he went overseas, but I should be receiving a letter soon. He went over as a replacement so he may be a little busy at this point.

I hope the mail is coming through to you by now; also some of the packages. Mother mailed you another package a couple of days ago so that makes six now on the way.  I am mailing a package, or possible, two packages next week.  I shall let you know as soon as I have actually done so.

Well, I guess that’s about all for the moment, honey lamb, so I’ll say “Bye for now”.  Once again, Billy, if there is anything you want or would like to have, let me know.
