Richmond 24, Va

Hello Joe,

Well it is me writing to let you know that everyone is fine in Richmond. Hope you are well and happy.

Joe, have you heard from my brother? We got another letter from him yesterday and he said he wasn’t in the place he was at first, but has moved further down. He only said somewhere in the South Pacific islands and in a way not place, and that he was going to be stationed there for a long time. Well I hope he is in a safe place and may God be with him always, and all the rest of the boys who are fighting so bravely to bring victory to this country again.

Richmond is so cold that you don’t know whether you are going to freeze or not. Gosh! I hate weather like this. Give me summer any old time.

Have you heard from Paris? She told me that she wrote to you.

Well Joe, how are you making out? Wherever you are boy do take good care of yourself.

Well Joseph, that is all the news I can think of now except do try and write to me as often as you can, for I love to hear from my friends.

Will close now wishing you loads of happiness and wishes forever.

            Lots of love,

Sophie

P.S. Ma! Dad! Rose all say hello.
